This beautiful and substantial string quartet is eternally popular amongst chamber music aficionados and remains one of the standards in musical composition, studied by soloists, composers, and orchestrators for its masterful construction. Beautiful harmonies, and of course Beethoven's uncanny ability to combine the four instruments make it a favorite.

Includes complete, high-quality printed sheet music for the 1st violin part and two compact discs containing a complete performance with soloist, then performed again minus the soloist.

Performed by Masako Yanagita, 1st violin

Accompaniment: Vieuxtemps String Quartet: Marine Hall, 2nd violin; Linda Lawrence, viola; Evalyn Steinbock, violoncello
