BENEATH, which is also the final movement of Shapiro's electroacoustic wind symphony suite IMMERSION, features the heart-wrenching song of a Pacific Humpback whale guiding us through the sea. Even in this magnificent environment of life and hope, exquisite creatures remain vulnerable to events triggered from beyond their fragile sanctuary.

To perform the piece, you'll need an audio system capable of playing the prerecorded audio tracks from a laptop computer via a small digital audio interface connected to an audio mixer. Download information is provided with the materials. Dur: 10:10
