Dance Of The Sprite is a gentle but Scherzo-like work for flute choir. The music is written in a lilting 6/8 with 3/4 rhythms punctuating the mischievous yet dream like quality of the harmonic structure. Depicting the antics of the sprite Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream the work eases from key to key using modality to darken the tonality throughout the piece leading to a gentle unexpected final phrase.
