Christina Rossetti is one of the most popular poets whose words are set to music. Her descriptive words about death being a dream like state are so enchanting they call for musical expression. Richard Burchard's music is equally moving, ethereal and thoughtful. Adding an oboe obbligato above the a cappella choir and soprano soloists lifts the music even higher. Great for college choirs, medium in difficulty.
