Described as a mini-overture by the composer, Fanfare: Sinfonia features contrasting harmonic and contrapuntal sections. The melodic materials of this short (two minute) work is derived from the opening harmonies. Meter changes and metric shifts contribute to the rhythmic vitality of the piece.
