Floating in a Dream: Close your eyes and imagine you are floating while you are dreaming, best accomplished with the help of a beautiful melody accompanying the dream. This piece uses legato style bowing and should feel relaxed and unhurried. Students should keep a steady pulse, especially when playing pizzicato. Each section has a turn playing the melody – see if the students can tell when they have the melody line. With easy rhythms, some cello divisi, this is a great piece for working on tone production!
