David Brunner uses a rhythmically interesting calypso feel to bring a fresh perspective to this familiar carol. The listener is immediately drawn in with the opening percussion introduction. “The Friendly Beasts” is often heard as a slow, quiet hymn. This Latin version adds an excitement and exuberance to the animals' retelling of the events in the stable on that holy night. Wonderful for concert, festival, or worship!
