Capture the fierceness and raw savagery of the battle that would change naval warfare forever! Ironclads is a work of epic proportions that chronicles the massive battle between the USS Merrimack and the USS Monitor during the American Civil War. A foreboding introduction with brass and percussion signifies the meeting of the two titans before the music suddenly takes off to portray the ferocity of the vessels in combat. Dissonance and colorful percussion writing ensue before a heroic ending caps this intense programmatic work!
