A programmatic rock ballad that depicts mirages, or images of things which are not really there, through the imagination of an inquisitive child. Mirage opens with a warm and expenssive melody plated by trumpets. The allegro middle section is a bright rock theme which alternates between high winds, low winds and the percussion section. The selection closes in the quiet manner in which it began. (Correlates with the Best In Class Band Method, Book 2, Page 29)
