Album for the Young is a debut piano collection by composer Irina Nenartovich (USA) who studied composition with Sergey Slonimsky at the St Petersburg State Conservatory. Nenartovich's instantly appealing style mixes diatonic and chromatic themes with sparkling neo-Romantic elements, influenced by Russian folklore. The seven-piece collection, intelligently edited by expert teachers and pianists, gives young musicians precise directions, including detailed instructions for fingering, pedalling, dynamics, articulation, and metronome markings, all helping with the pupil's interpretation and performance. Album for the Young is ideal for recitals and competitions for young pianists at late Elementary to Advanced levels.
