Commissioned by a consortium from Chorus America, this is a setting of a traditional Navaho poem. Beginning with a provocative first line--“Now Talking God”--This three word phrase is used as a simple rhythmic motive that becomes the underlying fabric of the piece-reflecting the beautiful directness of expression of Native American spirituality.
