The eight pieces are all well crafted with underlying jazz roots butemploying more sophisticated compositional techniques...Throughoutthere is great engaging counterpoint a down-home bluesy feel that issometimes missing in more composed-out jazz pieces and a harmonicand melodic freedom that is rare among published jazz material...Any ofthese duos would alsowork well on a recital program alone or combinedas a suite.--David Dem sey The Saxophone Journal
