The word “promise” is typically associated with Advent, so the use of the term “The Promised One” in this Christmas anthem reminds us that Christ's birth was the fulfillment of promise and prophecy. Powerful text is married to a beautiful melody, accompanied by a supportive, but not overwhelming piano part. Ruthie Schram is known for her sensitive choral impressions and this song not only describes the picturesque imagery of the beautiful manger scene, but the mystery of the manner in which God sent his son to earth. It is a gentle Christmas ballad that will touch the lives of all who hear it.
