Scripture: Psalm 113

To express the vitality of this festive passage of scripture, we find the composer using bright rhythmic gestures punctuated with syncopations and driving motives that invigorate and inspire. Open harmonies with added chord tones bring a touch of the modern to the tonal landscape of the piece, while the melody follows the spirit of the text with consideration and artfulness. The trumpet obbligato adds a delightful flair. Distinctive!
