In this anthem, we find a majestic flourish for Easter worship celebrations. The composition opens with a praiseworthy melodic arch that travels the musical staff with a powerful and triumphant gesture. This effect is made grander by the sturdy harmonic vocabulary of the vocal writing, giving each choral section satisfying material. Latin phrases of “Te Deum laudamus” trade with acclamations of life in English for a noble juncture of message and music. The appearance of DIADEM is transformed by Easter words as the soaring descant and commanding piano chords create a victorious moment.
