Ruth Elaine Schram has a special gift for writing memorable melodies. This piece is no exception as she tenderly cradles a picturesque text withexquisite tuneful beauty. The contrasting middle section is a challenge for all to hurry and behold the Savior: “Run, run, run to Bethleh em! See this thing which has come to pass...” Then the quietness of the manger returns with a quote from the familiar carol: “O come, let us adore Him.” The optional flute part adds a lovely shimmerto this beautiful nocturne. “Shepherd's Carol” is a must fo r your Christmas programming.
