Amidst the explosion of hymn projects in contemporary worship today, this song calls us to sing a song that's proven true. Incorporating “Amazing Grace” and “Be Thou My Vision” in the accompaniment, its folk-like melody and sturdy rhythm encourage the listener to “sing a mighty hymn of faith and teach it to the young.” Thecongregation is then invited to join in the singing of “Come, Tho u Fount of Every Blessing.” “Sing an Old Song to the Lord” will become an important new tradition for your singers, both old and young.
