Finally, a "real" symphony written for the younger concert band! The music is accessible yet interesting, challenging yet attainable. Boysen writes that he "wanted to compose a piece that was as serious and musical as [he] would write for college ensemble, while still recognizing the necessary technical limitations of the age." The result is an exhilarating four-movement masterwork well worth your rehearsal time and effort!
