Inspired by the life of Sister Patricia Jane Haggarty, Karen Linford composed this folk-like piece for the "Unheard America" project. Containing a combination of direct quotes and ideas from an interview with Sister Haggart along with the composer's favorite Biblical passages about children, "The Calling" carries a message worth conveying.
