(Bis dereinst mein Stündlein schlägt)

Whether you choose to sing in English or in the original German, the text of this Lenten choral is beautifully portrayed through shifts in color and in mood. Thesolemn opening phrases in g minor reflect upon our departure from life on earth and our longing for life in heaven. The latter strains, in G major, are passionate and exuberant, climbing higher in timbre and in dynamic as we draw nearer to our goal. “Till at Last My Life Shall End” will rattle the rafters with powerful, emotional praise.
