Many famous composers have set the heart-wrenching text of King David's weeping over the death of his son, Absalom. Burchard's setting is powerful and stirring and will not disappoint singer or listener. Originally released in SATB divisi and selected for the Bruce Rogers Choral Series, the brilliance of this composition is in the musical suspensions that capture the emotions so completely. Appropriate for college and advanced male choirs.
