Don Besig and Nancy Price share the very heart of the Savior's passion in this anthem for Holy Week. The hauntingly beautiful “Who Is He?” draws the listener into the scenes of Christ's last days. The text's penetrating portrayal of the passion is given added power through the music with the oboe or clarinet obbligato adding a note of poignancy to the melancholy melody. This needful anthem struggles with important sacred questions and then, in one final crescendo, leads the worshipper tothe glorious answer: “He is Lord, He is Redeemer!”
