Hailed as one of America's premier women composers, Rosephanye Powell's “With What Shall I Come?” is in dedication to the St. Olaf Choir and Anton Armstrong, Conductor, in honor of his 25th anniversary as Music Director of this esteemed ensemble. This text comes from Micah 6:6-8, which teaches that true righteousness comes from living a life of compassion and integrity, rather than merely performing outward acts of piety. In this setting, you can see how the composer uses this text to influence her rich interpretation of the music that accompanies it.
